THE EDUCATED ESTHETIC
Relocating from a house to a luxury apartment, a cultured independent brought traditional values and history to modern surroundings. What could be viewed as an adjustment became a fresh start thanks to an updated take on the luxury of seasoned knowledge.

To achieve a nice wall pacing flow, two large features - the library and sofa - were broken up by a sitting moment.
Defying the stereotype that recliners are unappealing, this genuine leather beauty sits on a round rug that balances the sharp shapes in the room.
The library presentation was organized by genre and styled with objects and statues of historic figures, such as Rodin’s The Thinker, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and the goddess Athena.

Personal works of art from the 1970s are framed above the sofa, resulting in a mono-chromatic color scheme.
To bring coziness and a pop of color, pillows and a blue, multi-hued, high-pile rug were added.

The contemporary structure and sleek design are counterbalanced by textured layers, adornments, and a coveted library collection - resulting in a space that's as striking as it is warm.
